Limits of the service
Version 7 of 7 November 2026
The following technical limits apply to the synchronisation of Shows & Stories. For a paid contract they are agreed under section 2.4 of the General Terms and Conditions; for every account they are described in section 4 of the Terms of Use. For permanent guest use without an account under section 3.2 of the Terms of Use, a limit of at most 10 subscribed feeds applies.
1. Maximum numbers per account
Per account, synchronisation covers no more than this many entries of a type of data:
- Subscribed feeds: 10,000
- Read states: 50,000
- Playback positions: 50,000
- Details on individual episodes: 50,000
- Notes: 20,000
- Playlist entries: 20,000
- Saved episodes: 20,000
- Watchlist: 20,000
- Folders: 2,000
- Tags: 2,000
- Smart folders: 2,000
- Collections: 2,000
- Saved searches: 2,000
- Feed rules: 2,000
- Playlists: 2,000
An entry above the maximum is not synchronised; it stays on the device on which it was created.
2. Playback history
The playback history is synchronised as a rolling window of the last 5,000 entries. When a new entry is added once this number has been reached, the oldest one drops out.
3. Size limits per record
A record that exceeds one of these limits is not synchronised. The other records are not affected.
- Identifiers: no more than 200 bytes
- Short details (such as a language or colour): no more than 64 bytes
- Titles, names and labels: no more than 1,000 bytes
- Addresses (URLs): no more than 4,096 bytes
- Episode identifiers (GUID): no more than 2,048 bytes
- Texts such as descriptions and notes: no more than 65,536 bytes
- Structured details such as settings or rules: no more than 65,536 bytes
- Lists within a record: no more than 1,000 entries
4. Server storage
If our server's database reaches 600 MB, synchronisation temporarily accepts no new data. Whatever is stored on your devices stays there and is transferred at the next successful synchronisation.
